Lincoln School holds annual Family Math Night
On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Lincoln School hosted its annual Family Math Night. Students and their families had a wonderful time playing math games such as KenKen, multiplication bingo, Jenga, tic-tac-toe, tangram shape building, and roll-and race addition and subtraction.
"A special shout out goes to Mr. Seiden, fourth grade teacher and Family Math Night chairperson, along with the Family Math Night Committee, our parent liaison, Ms. Pamela Valdovinos, the parent liaisons, the Lincoln School PTA and our teachers for volunteering and making this such a fun-filled and enjoyable event," said Rebecca Jones, principal of Lincoln School.
Seventh and eighth-grade students from Lincoln School took an exciting and informative trip to Mount Vernon City Hall on Monday, November 27, 2023. Students were welcomed by Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, who shared why she is compelled to serve as our mayor. She also answered questions about her duties and passions as a leader.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all faculty and staff at Lincoln School wore pink on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. They also walked around the outside of the school building in a show of solidarity and to bring greater awareness to our school community.
Eighth-grade students at Lincoln School graduated on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Parents and families cheered on the graduates as they received their diplomas.
Second and third-grade classes from Lincoln School took a class trip on the Circle Line, a boat tour in New York City, on Thursday, May 25, 2023. They took an hour-and-a-half cruise around the harbor.
Fourth-grade students at Lincoln School presented their Spring String and Poetry Concert on Thursday, April 27, 2023. Scholars played violins and recited original poetry to a crowd of second and third graders. They performed for the younger students to encourage and inspire them to start learning an instrument once they enter fourth grade.
Stephanie Pedro's class at Lincoln School celebrated Earth Day by reading "The Lorax" and doing a craft project to create hats while discussing being kind to the Earth. They also talked about how they can recycle and pick up garbage to keep the Earth clean.
Scholars and families in the Lincoln School community celebrated Black History Month by attending Wakanda Family Night on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Families ate dinner and dessert, and then they played games and danced in the auditorium.
