During American Heart Month and just in time for Valentine’s Day, Mount Vernon City School District students really put their hearts into it Friday morning! At Hamilton School, students skipped rope, drummed, powered through pushups, performed planks and kept moving from station to station in a celebration of cardiovascular fitness. At Edward Williams School, meanwhile, the focus shifted from keeping hearts strong to knowing how to restart one in an emergency.

Mount Vernon's Jewel Box

In the Jewel Box this week, we are highlighting Parent Involvement Day and all the families who came to support their children! We want to give a big thank you to all the parents and guardians who showed their dedication to their children’s education by attending – this commitment to learning will go a long way. Families can also get involved by joining our Parent Teacher Association! Thank you as well to all the administrators and staff who put this event together for our families. #MtVernonShines
